+ What is Dupioni Silk?
Dupioni or Dupion silk, is a lustrous 100% silk material that is frequently woven with two different colors of threads (one vertical, one horizontal). This technique is what gives the fabric a wonderful shimmering property that changes with the light.
Dupioni is made from irregular, rough silk which provides a “slubby” or “nubby” texture. It doesn't wrinkle badly or hold a crease well.
Our Dupioni is not as course as many of the cheaper varieties available. While still textured, our Dupioni provides a nice balance of texture and refinement.

+ What is Taffeta Silk?
Silk Taffeta is one of the oldest luxury fabrics. Taffeta is made from the longer and smoother silk cocoons. The material is characterized with a fine, smooth and tightly woven finish and a distinctive rustle and shimmer. Although it is more crisp to the touch than Dupioni, it doesn't wrinkle badly or hold a crease well.
